No, you won't be able to run glass.

ive read of a few people being able to run glass on theirs, are they just bs-ing, but it would make sense if it did work though bc everything MS says is "recomended" isnt it?

Have a read here. Download and run the Windows Upgrade Advisor.

I don't get the new Windows Vista AERO Glass user interface, why? Windows AERO Glass requires that you have a minimum of 64 MBs video RAM that is Direct X 9 compliant and supports the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM), formerly (LDDM). If your video card does not meet these requirements, its the likely cause why you are not seeing it. For onboard/integrated cards, you need to have 1 GB of dual channel memory installed with 512 MBs of RAM allocated to the system. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

I'm just wondering why the full Direct X 9 pixel shader 2 support etc. is necessary. Novell's XGL project (which as far as I can tell is fairly similar to Aero) achieves some similar 3D effects on the desktop, but runs reasonably on a computer that is over 6 years old! (nVidia GeForce 256 - 32Mb, 256 Mb system RAM, 700MHz Pentium III).
Surely Microsoft can provide at least some of the features of Aero with lower spec machines / graphics cards?
